On August 2nd We were expecting our new friends from Canada , Evans Blue, and were pleastly surprised when a couple of the guys from Breaking Benjamin, came into the studio.  It was close to the time they had to be on stage at Piere's before they discovered where Evans Blue’s guys had been all afternoon, so we did not get to do any tattoos this visit.but they promised to return the next time they play Piere’s.Arron Fink (Guitarist) did have time for Trent to stretch his ears from six to four gage and hooked him up with some new jewelry.  Mark Klepaski (bass player) was interested in having a tattoo done but there was not enough time, but they both signed Ron,s Guitar.

Formed in 1999 under the moniker "Plan 9", the band quickly garnered a local following before changing their name to "Breaking Benjamin" in late 2000 (Which came from Ben Burnley's solo experience where he broke a borrowed microphone and the person who owned it came on and said 'Thanks to Benjamin for Breaking my fucking mic') and signing to Disney’s Hollywood Records, where they released their first major-label record, Saturate , in 2002. The record had clear influences and touches of  Tool, and Nirvana. The first single "Polyamorous" received much radio airplay, and propelled the band to stardom. Additionally, the song was featured in the video game Run Like Hell. The video was released in two different versions, one for the UK that had all live-action footage and one for the US that had footage of the video game Run Like Hell. Both can be seen on YouTube.

Ben Burnley  taught himself the guitar by listening to Nirvana's Nevermine. He also explained in an on-air radio interview of the band  that he's written most songs at least half-drunk, with one exception Breaking Benjamin's roots are clearly alternative rock/metal band, but they are definitely heavier than their peers. Sticking to downtuned guitars, which creates a haunting and overwhelming heavy sound in their songs, they manage to keep the melody at the forefront. During live shows, they also often cover Nirvana, Tool and Depeche Mode songs.

During the afternoon Ron finished Parkers tattoo which is a memorial for his mother and Lance did a piece on the drummer (Danny) arm. A couple of the road crew also got some work done. Matisyn the lead singer of Evans Blue also had his ears stretched and pickup some new jewelry.

After that, it was down to Piere’s and listen to some great music by all three bands. Along with Breaking Benjamin and Evans Blue was Dropping Daylight.  All three Bands really rocked the house and had everyone eating out their hands, by the end of their sets.
